About Patrick
Patrick Hoban's practice is focused on public and private sector labor relations and employment issues. He represents municipal clients in collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings and provides day-to-day counsel to public employers on matters including contract administration, unemployment, work rules, compliance with state and federal employment regulations and civil service issues.
Pat has also represented and advised large national and local private sector employers on a variety of issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act and federal and state employment laws and in collective bargaining and labor arbitration matters. He has successfully represented clients before the Ohio State Employment Relations Board, the National Labor Relations Board, in federal and state courts, and before a variety of federal and state administrative agencies. Pat also provides counsel to clients in the sports and entertainment industries. Pat was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2010, 2011, and 2013.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Pat served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1996 onboard the USS Clark (FFG-11) and ACU-2 (reservist). Pat also served as a Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic for the City of Warrensville Heights, Ohio from 1995 to 2002, and as a Volunteer Firefighter for the City of Hudson, Ohio from 1995 to 2001. From 1997 to 2002, Pat served as President/Union Officer for International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1591.
