About Scott

Scott H. DeHart represents public and private sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Scott received his B.S. in Human Resources Management from Wright State University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from New York Law School, where he focused his studies on labor and employment law. As a law student, Scott was selected as Champion of the NKU Grosse Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Zashin & Rich in 2016, Scott pursued a full-time career as a Human Resources practitioner, serving as the HR Manager for a private not-for-profit vision rehabilitation agency in Cincinnati, Ohio, and as the Director of HR for the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at Columbia University. As an HR practitioner, Scott was responsible for the design, administration, and compliance of a broad range of HR programs, and had opportunities to conduct organizational efficiency assessments, implement staff restructuring plans, develop Affirmative Action Plans, negotiate Collective Bargaining Agreements, manage employee grievances, conduct workplace investigations, handle employee disciplinary actions and terminations, and advocate with Congressional leaders for amendments to federal disability laws. Scott holds HR certifications from the HR Certification Institute (PHR) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP). Scott now draws upon his progressive HR management experience to assist employers with day-to-day HR, employment law, and labor law needs.

Outside of the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing the acoustic guitar, and being involved in his church community.
